Fruit Basket

I got inspired by this bit from another blog, Iron Kingdoms at War, about making miniature fruit baskets. I haven't done it yet (I'm going to use old fashioned toothpaste caps personally) but I thought of a 4e affect for it. Imagine PCs pursuing someone through a market who is throwing these in the way.

The inspiration:

The stats:

    • Level 1 Obstacle
    • Spilled fruit basket
    • Hazard
    • XP 100

    • A filled basket is beautiful and delicious, a spilled basket can bring any adventurer down.
    • Hazard A fruit basket is toppled over and the fruit spills out creating a hazard.

    • Perception
    • DC 10: The character perceives that, indeed, this is an overturned basket of fruit and that it could be dangerous.

    • Nature
    • DC 10: The character realizes that fruit can be used to create a hazard.

    • Trigger
    • The basket may be spilled by an adjacent character with a successful Strength check vs. DC 10.

    • Attack
    • standard•Close blast 1
    • Attack: + 4 vs. Reflex, +6 is the character is running
    • Hit: The character is prone.

    • Aftereffect: The effect remains until the fruit are removed. A fruit can be picked up as a move action, and thrown as a standard action (Dexerity vs. Reflex, 1 point of damage, on a critical success the target becomes unconscious and prone (save ends both.)

    • Countermeasure
    • A character who is slowed, moving at half speed, or treats the affected area as difficult terrain.

    • Countermeasure
    • A character can spend three actions of any type clearing the fruit.

    • Countermeasure
    • At the DMs discretions, affects that produce heavy wind or otherwise force movement can clear the fruit from the affected area.
    • Created with DungeonMastering.com's DM Tools
